David Motsinger is a serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience working with startup companies. David’s most recent project was StrikeIron, where he served as CTO. At StrikeIron, David led the cloud computing technology team responsible for the design, development, deployment and support of StrikeIron’s cloud based Data-as-a-Service platform, software systems, data centers, infrastructure, and products.
Prior to StrikeIron, David was a co-founder and the CTO of Covelight Systems, a security technology company that sold to Radware in 2007. Prior to co-founding Covelight, David was a co-founder and the CEO of GadgetSpace, a wireless application infrastructure company started in 1999 and sold to InPhonic in 2001. He also co-founded and served on the board of Field2Base, a mobile data capture & delivery company. He was the Director of Business Development for HAHT Software, the Director of Software Development for Relativity Technologies, held senior software engineering positions at Versata and developed software for Q+E Software that were included in several Microsoft products.
David has also invested in non technology startup ventures as well. He has invested in two North Carolina restaurants: Zely & Ritz in Raleigh and Piedmont in Durham.
David holds a B.S. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.
